James Abbey lives in a countryside cottage next to a rain forest preserve a few kilometers outside of Puriscal, Costa Rica. He divides his time between writing and working on his wind turbine and solar panels that supply electricity to his small home. His favorite pastime is watching the monkeys and sloths that wander by to liberate samples from his fruit trees. His other passions include astronomy, repairing his antique motorcycle and radio. For thirty years he worked as a radio talk show host with AM and FM stations in the U.S. and on international shortwave bands. He has also authored several non-fiction articles for journals dealing with racism.
