Brooklyn-based author of "The Painter from Shanghai" (a sprawling novel of art and love in China, which the New York Times calls "luminous" and "and irresistible story" and Publishers' Weekly raves (in a starred review) "captivates to the last line." I also write obscure short stories about family angst, sexual misadventures and odd but enlightening travel experiences.
