ABOUT JILL CHRISTINE CARPENTER
I am an artist/illustrator with a slight tendency towards computer nerdiness. I am also a survivor of nearly three decades as a freelance artist, and of six years of a business partnership with Stacy Mantle. It's been quite an adventure, lots of hard work, but also lots of fun.
I've been a member of Authors Den for a few years. Though I am not a writer by profession it seems like I've been doing more and more of it lately. However, my art and design work is what I love best and where most of my time is spent.
In my spare time I help friends and family (and sometimes total strangers) with their computers. Mostly I help them find alternatives to using Microsoft products, with the eventual goal of becoming Microsoft free. What a grand day it will be when my friends and family can all say; "I don't do Windows!"
After all, computers without Microsoft are like chocolate cake without mustard.

Grandma Wrestles With Technology
I think what gave me the final push towards starting this blog is that, according to a great many know-it-all technology bloggers, little ol’ lady types, as a group, are categorized and derided as clueless simpletons, relegated to the bottom of the technology food chain.

Linux against poverty. Ken Starks
You've entered into the realm of someone who thinks the proliferation of Linux on the desktop is worth the hard work and sacrifice. There are few things in life aside from my family I have found worth fighting for. On these pages, you will discover that for me...there is one other.
