Life offers so many influences, even the bad experiences become the backdrop to what falls into the filing cabinate of your brain. It is those influences that have shaped my writing.

I grew up as a child where a lot of imagination was fed through radio, listening to BBC's output was fantastic, shows like 'Journey Into Space', 'The Goon Show' , it was all stimulating those brain cells.

My influences were perhaps from the less known writers, the script writers of those radio shows. But Nina Bawden did make me think more about writing, I love her characters and their mannerisims. Also Spike Milligan, now he gave me the liberty to not be told that this is the right way, but do it your way and learn to make it work, and if its funny, laugh.

Now all those factors are in the filing cabinate, and people pop out of my head that I have to say, 'Forgive me, do I know you?' The trouble is when I finish a writing, those characters do not go away, I feel guilty that I have not anything more to say about them..

Everyday there are characters knocking at the door of my thoughts

begin that I let them in.

Everyday I recall the names that became

the hero's the villans

on many a page.

So keep knocking

I am sure I'll let you in

just so long as I keep writing.
