I lived for nine years in a seminary and monastery. I received my Ph.D.from the University of Illinois in Counseling Psychology and worked for over thirty years as a professional psychologist. Now I write a regular newspaper column available free as Sliding Otter News through my website, http://www.slidingotter.com, maintain a blog, Conversations with Calliope available on this site, an ongoing dialogue with my muse and write fiction and nonfiction. I am currently working on a book chronicling a year with my muse.

I have published Commonsense Wisdom for Everyday Life, Young Man of the Cloth,have recently published a novel,The Pastor's Inferno. I have also written Guide to Navigating the Mental Health System in Genesee County. I recently published Navigating Life: Commonsense Reflections for the Voyage available at http://www.booklocker.com/books/3803.html. Projects in the works include Commonsense-Wisdom for Teens, reflections based on interviews and writings of teens about their lives and Marital Property, a novel about a couple coming to terms with their marriage and its discontents.
