Julius Galacki received his MFA from the Playwriting program at the Yale School of Drama, his BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and another Masters degree from the interdisciplinary Gallatin School at NYU (with many additional screenwriting classes at the UCLA Extension).
He has written numerous articles for union newsletters around California, taught creative writing to undergraduates at Yale University and Quinnipiac University, worked as a Script Analyst for USA Films and currently works for Twentieth Century Fox.
His monologues appear in all four volumes of the recently published Smith & Kraus’ series “Audition Arsenal.”
His plays have been seen on Theatre Row in New York City, at the Yale Cabaret in New Haven, the New Jersey Repertory Theatre, and in Los Angeles at the El Portal Theatre, Academy of New Musical Theatre, Third Stage, Abbott Kinney Gallery, M Bar, The Brewery Arts Colony and The Hothouse.
"Black Flamingos" received an Equity reading at the Yale Repertory Theatre with a cast that included Tony nominated actress Amy Ryan and was directed by Obie Award winner Evan Yionoulis.
Additionally, he frequently directs his own and others plays and in the past has acted, stage managed, designed lights and just about every other job in the theatre.
