I grew up in Texas and even lived on a working cattle ranch, for a while. I've been writing throughout my life, producing everything from song lyrics and poetry to short plays and dialect courses for Renaissance fairs, from ad copy to training manuals, from comic books and short stories to plays and novels. Most of my fiction writing has been in the science fiction and fantasy genres, but I've found that my true home lies in westerns and historical fiction. I am an avid researcher, and have spent time in many of the places that appear in my Western stories. The ghosts of the Old West have always been my neighbors. Now, they are my Muses, as well.

I'm currently serializing my Western novels, from my Desperado series, on my Outlaw Starr website. The central books star 16-year-old cowbody-turned-outlaw, Joshua Love. The site boasts two completed novels in that series, another in-progress novel, and excerpts from my current print edition of Three Ways From Sunday. This last book will not be serialized on the site, and is only available in print. My Outlaw Starr site also hosts the serialized version of two of my ShadowFall science fiction novels, The Faraian Conspiracy and its sequel, A Covenant of Shadows.
