I live in Colorado and began freelance writing in 2007. Some of my articles have been published in the local newspaper. I won a contest for writing the verse for the 2009 Loveland, Colorado valentine card.
Writers who have influenced me include local writers from my hometown, Erma Bombeck for her sense of humor, and Richard Carlson for his positive outlook on life. His Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff series of books contains words of wisdom we can all live by. I also admire Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield for their persistence in trying to get the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book published. They faced a lot of rejections before getting the first one published which made me realize that if you believe in yourself and you have a dream, you should follow it.
