The idea of writing a book never even occurred to me until one day I "needed" to read a personal story of how a family coped with a loved one's stroke. I had so many questions. I couldn't find such a book, so I wrote my own.

Background Information

I was motivated to write a book when I was thrown into a situation where the questions were many and the answers were hard to find. I wrote about my experiences to help others that might find themselves in the same situation. You can order a copy of my book directly from me by contacting me through my AuthorsDen email. The price is $14.00 (includes postage)

Birth Place

Accomplishments

Since getting my book published, many new roads have opened up for me.
I was honored to be invited by the American Heart Association to be the keynote speaker at the American Stroke Association convention. It was held at Rutger's University on November 15th. It was a wonderful experience to meet and speak to caregivers, stroke survivors, and medical personnel. It was one of the highlights of my life!
I have also been involved with proofreading and writing for The Bright Side - Wings of Support http://www.the-bright-side.org.
One of my articles, Caregiver Stress, was published in Today's Caregiver magazine (Jan/Feb 2006)

Additional Information

I recently learned that a national caregiver organization reviewed "Your Mother has Suffered a Slight Stroke" in their winter newsletter, UPDATE. The Familily Caregiver Alliance is a wonderful resource for caregivers. Their website is: www.caregiver.org. The review will soon be posted on their website as well. Here is part of their review: "This book will likely resonate with caregivers everywhere who have struggled through similar situations with their own loved ones. Professionals who work with caregivers will appreciate and learn from this courageous caregiver's journey."
