Lena Rai's poetry runs deep in a world that begins to seep into other's curiosities. Through her poetry, she will begin to paint a picture of only some of her experiences. Each poem portrays a special story of a singular circumstance seen in an unusual way. Touching many hearts and lives, she continues to push forward to whatever challenges she can find. Without fear, Lena will send your mind and

Background Information

Excerpt"...When I write, (anytime day or night) I don't have anything on my mind except what I'm writing about. I just pick up my pen and paper and let it flow and flow to whatever deep corner of my mind I can. Each poem is its own story of a reality that existed in my life either by emotion or circumstance."Whispering a Lady's Secret" is exactly that! It's filled with many poems and photographs that existed at one time. It tells a story of a life before, "Voices Silently Speak". So many people can not hear their own voices silently speak! However, "Whispering a Lady's Secret" has gone deeper and further than that. In reading this book, I hope that you can open your eyes, mind, and understanding. Don't try to find out what happened to me by detail or try to decipher every poem as it was when I wrote it, but let your emotions flow from wherever they're at and what how they make you fee and what they get you to remember. Not every poem will hit you, but the one that does will mean something to you and that's the whole purpose of me writing this book. Then maybe you'll be able to move on from that fear, circumstance or happening that touched your life in whatever way that it did and realize "it's ok".In my eyes poetry isn't necessarily about rhyming or perfecting everything that's been written down. It's about letting what comes to your heart, mind, and soul be released through that pen to that piece of paper without a care in the world what anyone will think. Then you've actually gotten somewhere and done something that too many people won't do or have done and are afraid to show it. They've released their emotions and faced what they wrote. Not as a mistake or problem, but a positive circumstance that let their voices silently speak.Maybe now you'll understand the one "Whispering a Lady's Secret" . . .

Biography

Lena Rai is an aspiring Native American novelist who loves to write poetry in her spare time as the inspiration hits her. She graduated high school in a small town just south of the Mackinaw Bridge with accomplishments such as the Literary Magazine, School Newspaper, Yearbook, and Choir in her experiences. During this time, she also got published in The International Library of Poetry with "Anonymous Thoughts" and succeeded with further offers afterward such as her award winning essay "The Accomplishments of Gerald R. Ford as President of the United States" for the Gerald R. Ford renaming ceremony in Grand Rapids, MI where she won a cash prize and a spot in the MINACT INC. News of Fall 2004 with U.S. Representative Vernon Ehlers and Ford's brother Richard Ford.

Her latest accomplishment is a newly published book by the name of "Voices Silently Speak" published by Publish America where she begins to reveal many struggles she's encountered in her life as well as attempt to take you through her emotions poem by poem.

Running a myspace site to promote it at http://www.myspace.com/lenarai, Lena is working on her most interesting project yet involving just her poetry and pictures! The poetry book is titled, "Whispering a Lady's Secret" and opens many more doors to the heart and soul of this passionate Native American young lady from the Burt Lake Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and may just introduce the freedom and art of poetry to the world again.
