I was born in a small Native fishing village on the coast of Washington State. All my life I have had this urge to write down some of my- and others- experiences that have had great influences in my later years. Now they will continue to fill my books, whether good or bad. As I grew up, the elders of my tribe passed on superstitions, legends, and lessons learned. Stories got handed down from one generation to the next. All of this knowledge stuck in my head, probably because I always knew in my heart that one day I would put them to paper.

I went to two Junior colleges, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Finally I graduated from Western State University with a degree in Accounting, even though writing is the love of my life. Now I do it full time. I made the President's List for straight "A"s one year at Peninsula College. I am a contributor to "The Published Author's Guide to Promotion" published by Publish America. I am very proud to be included.

Most of my friends who are reading my first-published book "Skye Dancer" cannot believe I have done it! Even my sister said "Lila wrote this!?" My husband didn't even laugh when I announced that I was gonna write books... Now I am happily revising the first and second novel I wrote before Skye Dancer was Published. My husband and I were married for forty wonderful years and he was my biggest supporter, but I am sad to say - he passed on last November, 2003. My daughter is my salvation- and my writing, needless to say. When I asked her to read my book, she grinned and said, "I'll wait for the movie to come out...." How sweet it is!
