Linda, born in the southeastern region of South Dakota, spent her youth in travel as her father, an Army officer, was reassigned from one side of the world to the other (Japan and Germany) and within the boundaries of the United States of America (Washington, Missouri and Georgia). After several college quarters, Linda married and lived with her husband in North Carolina, Oklahoma, and California before returning to live in the coastal area of Georgia. Later, with a daughter in tow, she returned to the family "home" in the Chattahoochee Valley region.
In th early '80's, Linda began worked at the state psychiatric hospital where people, diagnosed with a biological/psychiatric disorder and in crisis, are stabilized. During her tenure, she served as a senior secretary, medical librarian, and operations analyst. After more than 24 years, she retired. Working both directly and indirectly with consumers of mental health services was an experience that provided a clearer understanding of the disease process of mental illness. She is a current board member of the WCGRH Foundation, Inc.
A member of the Georgia Poetry Society, Linda currently serves as editor of the GPS's newsletter. Linda finds expression through words very satisfying. She is an avid amateur photographer, another outlet for sharing what she observes with others.
