I was born and raised in a small Minnesota town and took my liberal arts degree in philosophy and English in a neighboring town. Because of my passionate interest in astronomy and space travel, my first two years of college were spent in chemistry and mathematics. My first poem, written at age 10, was inspired by Andre Norton's book, The Stars Are Ours. I have branched out since then into short stories, nonfiction articles, and personal essays, some of which have been published over the past thirty or more years.
