I didn't start writing until all my earlier youthful activities (i.e., dancing, clubbing, horse-riding etc.), had suddenly come to a halt, as my retirement age was fast approaching at a mad gallop. I had always loved reading books from an early age, and was "weaned" on Enid Blyton's "Noddy" books, never dreaming that one day I would write my own fantasy stories, although I was always good at turfing out compositions at school, which were mostly ghost stories. I also loved reading poetry out loud in class, in spite of being very shy, and once I had to learn and recite "The Owl And The Pussycat", which encouraged me to write my own poems and prose. It wasn't until a certain magpie came into my life, when I decided to write a book about him, not realising at the time how much his character was going to take over my style of writing, giving it an almost "Jekyll and Hyde" element. This means the book has two stories to tell - mine and his; or should I say : his and mine! To enjoy reading this book, you need to be "young at heart" - and it would also help if you have a good sense of humour! My interests and hobbies: Horse-riding (past), writing, gardening, studying wildlife, conservation (present). I am a Reiki healer, and have recently received the attunement to become a Reiki Master, but so far I have only used this gift of healing on animals and birds (plus one human to date!). Ayurvedic life-style also interests me, and I have found out that I have a leaning towards being a Vata-Kapha type person, so I try to stick to their rules of fitness and health (when and where I can, and reading up on the assessment, it looks as though I am crossed between a sweet and sour person, meaning I have to watch my salt and sugar intake! Feng Shui fascinates me, and I try to incorporate some of the principles around my home and garden, although I cannot claim to know very much about the subject. Runes happen to be another interest of mine, and I'm still learning about their meanings and uses, and also the Tarot cards. But I'm still at the stage where I have to use the the instruction books for their meanings. I also like to collect crystals and stones, which can also be used for healing purposes.

Achieved Grades I and II in the piano at the age of ten. Graduated in Pitmans Secretarial Course at the age of 16.

I have written several poems and have had two published. My first book published is an amusing account of a magpie I rescued as a fledgling, and also covers anecdotes of my early childhood leading up to the present day. This book was rather ambitious as it's written in two parts. After each chapter I have allowed the magpie to write his own account of his life with the family. And so in his somewhat quirky "voice", he tells us of myths and legends that go back as far as the age of dinosaurs; to the beginning of time. He reveals tales of fantasy and bird lore, which leads you along a path filled with wonderful stories of another world, reaching into the heart of the animal kingdom. It is a book for all ages. At the moment I am writing a novel based on a true story with spiritual connections, and is a truly amazing story. I also have three fantasy stories for children coming up for completion.
