(Taking a break while hiking in the Pisgah National Forest.)
I love living in the desert Southwest, but I also love the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest and the eastern US.

I'm a southern girl to the core. I grew up on a farm in SC, lived in middle Tennessee for 25 years, and now reside in SOUTHERN Arizona in the high Sonoran Desert. We are surrounded by mountains and enjoy the finest weather in the continental US.
Logging is an important industry in my home state of South Carolina. As a youngster, I saw far too many decimated forests.
My mystery books, "Deadfall" set in Oregon's Siskiyou National Forest and "Clearcut" set in North Carolina's Pisgah National Forest reflect my love and concern for the preservation of our treasure in trees.
I've studied writing, elementary education, computer programming, and business administration.
In addition to writing, I work with Special Needs Children in the local school system.
I'm a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of American and the Short Mystery Fiction Society.

My current work in progress is "Coyote Moon." This new book is set in Cochise County, AZ (my home)...
Jessie Kincaid's ranch, in the foothills of the Huachuca Mountains, is often raided by coyotes looking for fresh beef or a tasty young sheep--a fact of life in this high desert country. When someone dear to Jessie dies at the hands of a coyote of the two--legged variety, Jessie is obsessed with bringing him and his kind to justice.
