Lynne Epstein is a native of Endicott, NY. After graduating from Union-Endicott High School, she continued her education at SUNY Delhi, where she obtained her Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Technology. Although she has had numerous secretarial positions over the past several years, her ultimate passions are reading, writing, aerobics and acting.
She is a certified aerobics instructor with the American Fitness Aerobics Association (AFAA). She has also taken a number of theatre courses at Broome Community College. She has published several articles and has recently published her first book, Subtle Deception; a Woman's Struggle To Let Go of an Internet Relationship.
Subtle Deception, a true story, documents Lynne's failed relationship with a man she met on the Internet in the year 2000.
While her story takes you on a one year journey with Lance (whose name is fictional), she addresses the unique obstacles and pitfalls of Internet dating. She starts out with how she met Lance by responding to his ad that she came across on an Internet dating site.
Ater meeting him in person, she is convinced she has met her match. Lynne then skillfully draws the reader into the fireworks that occur as their relationship reaches the highest level and Lance tells her he is 'in love' with her. As the story progresses, it becomes apparent that Lance is "playing" her. The reader becomes frustrated with Lynne as she tries to dismiss the subtle deceptions hidden in his personality and character.
While Ms. Epstein's behavior has been called "adolescent" and "foolish", it remains a fact that many intelligent women [and men] can get caught up in the love struck emotions of irrational behavior at any age. This is why she wrote the book.
If one person can manifest the courage to end a relationship that is not giving back to them what they are contributing mentally, physically, emotionally and financially, then the time, energy and passion with which she has told her story will be worth it.
