I've been writing for a number of years. My first commercial success was a story published in 1994 in the now defunct teen magazine, Sassy. Since then my work has appeared in a number of publications, including Drexel Online Journal, Many Mountains Moving, The Writer, Indianapolis Monthly, The Baltimore Review, Frontiers, and Potpourri. An agent marketed my first novel, but though the book received favorable comments, it did not sell. I’m currently marketing my second adult novel, A Little Menagerie, and a middle-grade novel. My story, "A Flash of Gold," appears in the award-winning series, Stories from Where We Live: The Great Lakes, released by Milkweed Press, July 2003. When I'm not writing, I'm a writing consultant at a university. I also teach creative writing workshops for children.
Links below and under the various categories on the left side of the page will take you to some of my work. Enjoy.

"More cats fall out of New York City apartment windows on Saturday nights than any other night of the week. Renee doesn't know where she learned this, but she wonders if the same is true for Chicago, where she lives. On summer nights, she finds herself glancing up at cats lounging in open windows, imagining a furry body hurtling through the air, tail first, then head first, finally landing on its feet to trot off down some dark alley."
How to Live With an Artist
"How to Live With an Artist" won honorable mention in the Story Worth 500 Words Contest.
