Marla Woolsey was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. As the ninth of ten children, she was constantly feeling left out so she took to reading.
By the time she began school, reading had become her favorite hobby -- that and taking care of babies. In her household, there were plenty of nieces and nephews around to be looked after. Marla loved books about ghost, and far away places. She wrote short stories for fun, and told them to the kids she would baby sit.
In Jr. high School, she read her first romance novel. It seemed the perfect kind of book; you could travel the world in the comfort of your own home.
Thousands of romance books later, after marriage and raising babies of her own, she begin riding over the road with her husband who drives a truck for Wal-Mart. With not much to do while riding in a truck, she decided to write. Marla wrote her first romance novel of her very own. A contemporary romance titled, "A Trucker's Wife,' Published by PublishAmerica. When she first started writing, she actually thought you just wrote a manuscript, sent it off to a publisher, and a few months later, it was a book on the store shelves. She later found out different.
Marla is soft-spoken, humorous, down to earth, and serious-when the need arises. Having been fortunate enough to travel to various places she developed into a very observant person. This enables her to build realistic characters of everyday life.
Marla now lives in East Texas with her husband, and helps care for her in-laws who live with them. She spends most of her days, evenings, and weekends working on new books.
