Why do we write? I suppose we do it in order that our voices be heard. I've been writing stories since I was kid (the first that I can remember concerned a young girl who was taken by a tornado to a strange land, and no, I didn't give L. Frank Baum credit! But geez, I was only five years old!).

Michael began his publishing career as Rhythm & Blues Editor of Pop Top Magazine, The Record Buyer's Guide, in Boston from 1976-1978. Moving to New York, he became Assistant Editor of National Jeweler magazine at Gralla Publications in 1978. Thus began a long professional association with a variety of magazines, including a long run as Managing Editor of Graphic Arts Monthly and a two-year shift as Copy Chief of Computer Shopper magazine. He has worked on the Web for such high-tech sites as CMP Media's Planet IT (now TechWeb). He is currently at his favorite job ever: Copy Chief at "Soap Opera Weekly," where he is mandated to watch TV during the day. His literary influences include Shirley Jackson, George Baxt, and Stephen King.
