Michael Kasenow is a novelist, poet and scientist. He teaches environmental courses at Eastern Michigan University.


Background Information

   Michael Kasenow is a novelist, poet and scientist, and is currently a Geology Professor at Eastern Michigan University, where he teaches environmental science courses.  He is also an international selling author of twelve environmental science books published by Water Resources Publications.  His latest fictional work has just been released:  The Last Paradise - A Novel. His major literary influences are John Steinbeck; Cormac McCarthy and Jack Kerouac.  He has also recently released a book of poems:  Six Feet Down.  His poetry is influenced by the Beat Poets, Carl Sandburg and E.A. Robinson. He lives in Michigan where he enjoys watching his son grow. He has traveled extensively and lived in many places among a variety of unique personalities.  His life time resume includes cab driver, bus boy, waiter, bartender, lumberman, construction worker, janitor, butcher and ranch hand in New Mexico. These experiences add a level of authenticity to his written work.
