I grew up in India (Auroville) and was influenced by mystical and spiritual traditions there. Notably Sri Aurobindo's epic 'Savitri'. Then I read the English Romantics in my late teenage years. This was followed by exposure to nearly every school of poetry, notable the metaphysical poets, the sufi tradition and women poets of all eras.
I write because I need to, usually everyday or every other day. I've never been published though this might be fun at a certain point. I've experimented with erotic themes, environmental and other activist themes, including a lot or romantic poetry actually inspired by real people...
I'm stricly a free-verse poet, sometimes with long-winded lines that are cryptic and unusually dense. I can write in a more simple style but rarely choose to, as I explore when I write and need some cognitive component usually to keep things interesting.
I suppose I've been influented by great names like Shakespare, Pushkin, Goethe and the classics in general more than most writers. I especially seek out poets who wrote in other languages to get new feels and inspirations. Taoism is also a noteable influence in some of my writing.
I've been writing only for about 10 years, but seriously only for 5. I've a good output during that time, but rarely am satisfied with what I create. I'm currently a University student in psychology.
