I love to laugh and to make people of all ages laugh. I had great fun working on the rhyming picture book "Ole And Zac And The Port Of Tumbattle", and I also created Stags! which is an adult tale about lads on a Stag weekend that may make you blush, but which will hopefully make you laugh too! Stags! is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle. Just completed Mmm...No1...Cookbook, my Kindle coo

Stags! is currently available FREE on Kindle at Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, and is officially a Bestseller! It is number 1 in Free Kindle Humour (UK) and number 14 in Free Kindle overall.
I really enjoy posting on Authorsden, reading reviews and posting some of my own.
Still writing for High Peak Review, but am currently working on at least 4 separate projects. MMM...No1...Cookbook is now complete. Its a cookery book for Kindle, not really intended for profit, just so that I can keep all of my recipes in one place. It is "Every Day Cooking For Every Day Lives".
Michael Madden
I am married to Sally Madden, and I am a father of three. I have spent many years working in the IT industry, for such diverse companies as a brewer, a number of banks, a mobile phone company and a mail order company. This included successfully operating my own consultancy for over ten years. A keen amateur cricketer, I also established an independent national fantasy cricket competition with the help of my wife Sally. I published the informative and occasionally humorous newsletter for my local cricket club for many years, and I have also contributed both content and editorial to other newsletters. I developed another string to my bow by conducting after dinner speeches, both for my local cricket club and the wider audience of the local cricket league. More recently I have started working as a freelance journalist, writing articles for various local publications, and in 2009 I was privileged to be able to interview rockabilly legend Sleepy Labeef, following which I published an article and review in the Reading Chronicle. Originally from Sale, in Cheshire, I now live in the more peaceful surroundings of Whaley Bridge in the Peak District.
It seems that whenever life gets too quiet something comes along to speed it up again. Ive agreed to do a speech to the local cricket league at the end of November (300 drunken men - and its supposed to be humourous), and my cards have arrived promoting Ole And Zac And The Port Of Tumbattle for the Red House Childrens Book Award - so I'd better get promoting!

Manchester Childrens Book Festival International Readathon
What they said...
MMU would like to congratulate the pupils at Taxal & Fernilee C of E Primary School and Chinley Primary School for hosting a special event as part of the Manchester Children’s Book Festival. Headteacher Mrs Victoria Keen and Ms Jan Glover hosted a special event with a visit from poet Mr Mike Madden. The children were entertained with readings by Mr Madden and some talented pupils were presented with a selection of published poetry containing their very own illustrations.
Mrs Keen was delighted with the success of the event at Taxal and Fernilee saying, “it was a really excellent example of a whole school community project. It got everyone interested in the subject of reading, illustration and publication.” Ms Jan Glover commented on the response from the pupils at Chinley Primary School by saying they were “thrilled to see Mike dressed as a pirate and even more so to receive a copy of this fabulous book. A super time had by all.”
