I have enjoyed a personally rewarding professional career. For 25 years, as a special education teacher and as an administrator of community-based service programs for persons with disabilities.

I enjoy helping people. Providing written information that is useful and easy to understand. This has been my professional trademark. But I also strive to portray the matters of the heart and mind. I like to stir controversy, convey hope, and stimulate the imagination.

Over the past 15 years I have begun seriously writing poetry, popular songs, short stories, and essays. Literature has always been an instrument of enlightenment for me. From Homer to Kurt Vonnegut, I was an avid reader from an early age. The serial articles written by my grandparents, Victor and Mabel Green, in the Banner Gazzett, their own newspaper, also served to stir my creative juices.

 

I am proud to announce that one of my poems, "A Rainy Day Reality" was published in the Maple Leaf Rag III, Portals Press, New Orleans, LA. (http://www.portalspress.com).

Many readers are apparently enjoying my children's story entitled "Prince Frederick and the Selfish Spell". This is a fairy tale that teaches the virtures of sharing and one boy's experience with trying to hide his possessions away.
