Michael Yarwood was born in Liverpool during the late 40s.Victim of a broken home. I say victim because any blame always fell on our family. My Father left us after three years, leaving Mother a tough job bringing us up on little or no money. At school I was constantly being told by my teachers that my prospects in life were non-exsistant, so I joined the British Army on leaving school in the early 60s. Did I grow up being or feeling bitter? No, there was no point, there was nothing I could do about it anyway. Some of those horror stories from my childhood still remain with me today, they were not caused by Mother, mostly by the system but that's life. Kids were rounded up in Liverpool and sent to Australia and ended up in slave labour on farms, this practice only ended in1970. So having one parent in those days was a crime and dangerous as insofar being rounded up.
Michael Yarwood now resides in Cornwall.
Having written five books on the Holocaust mainly centered around the warsaw Ghetto I decided to have a change. I have since written a biography 'Me and our Kid' about my brother and I growing up in Liverpool during the 1950s, it brought back many memories of those days. The poverty etc, also the funny side of our lives, the mischief and trouble we always found ourselves in. It brought tears of laughter back when I was writing it. The first book was quite a success in the UK on kindle, so I written part deux and I am writing the final book part three which is now finished 'This is the End'
The fourth book Billy and Empress set in Liverpool is now out on kindle and will be in book form shortly is a work of fiction.
A story about a ten year old boy and his cat Toby and The Empress a hospital ship. Set in 1942
