Award-winning author M. King lives in a damp corner of England, behind a vat of coffee and a keyboard. She writes a wide range of fiction, from screwball to suspense and back again.

Background Information

M. King writes a wide range of vibrant, compelling fiction, available both in ebook and [coming soon] print release. A former Arvon Foundation award winner, her work ranges from the hard-hitting emotional impact of her acclaimed debut novel, gay drama Breaking Faith, to paranormal, fantasy, romance and cross-genre mainstream fiction, right through to flat-out screwball detective stories (see The Blue Salmon for more details!)

As of June 2009, Ms. King has a range of short fiction ebooks available, with her most recent online release being Almost Human, a short fantasy-adventure published as part of a forthcoming GLBT anthology. She also has a collection of short stories, Only Mortals, and a new novel, Daemon, coming soon in print and ebook release. You can find full details on these and other projects at lavengra.com

During the infrequent instances she is not writing, M. King enjoys dabbling in her herb garden, taking long and muddy walks with her dogs, and falling off horses. A long-term CFS sufferer, she has lived in most places around the UK, and now resides in a damp and verdant corner of West Cornwall, where she may usually be found behind a keyboard and a vat of coffee. She holds, for some reason, qualifications in Art History, Classics, European Humanities and Medieval Studies and, in the past, has been involved in--among other things--mixed media art-poetry exhibitions, Pagan youth mentoring, community theatre and animal welfare. Not all at once, though. Prior to taking up writing full-time, she ran a business dedicated to organic beauty products, and still consults on natural skincare manufacture.

Don't forget to check out The Hunt for Immortal Fire - an online scavenger hunt running until the end of 2009 - for the chance to win a print copy of the Immortal Fire anthology, and more!
