I sometimes say that I have been writing all my life, and I have, although not writing seriously. I just didn't believe in myself enough. I had to 'evolve' as a writer.
The major influences in my life that made me want to write are:
1. My best friend, Mary Lynn Blake (she used to read me Shakespeare, Georgette Heyer novels, and classics like, "The Robe")
2. My hubby and kids (because my dream is to make enough money as a writer so I can stay home and spend more time with them)
3. And Stephen King, ("God Bless his heart", because reading any thing he writes is so inspiring. He is like my personal Muse. I love his crazy imagination!)
I do like to tell a story. I have a lot of fun locked up in a quiet room, listening to classical music while I share my imagination. Maybe that makes me weird or something...I don't know. I only know that when I am gone, there will be pieces of me, of my life, of the things I have experienced written on pages so others can catch a glimpse of the person that I was. Because even though I write fiction, I am "my" writing. My thoughts logged down for the world to see. Me...Naomi Jeanette (Viles) Hyatt, from a small Oklahoma town, born the day after Christmas in 1958. I am still climbing the hill of life and praying that I don't crash and burn when I reach the top and fall down the other side.
