I majored in philosophy and psychology at the University of Minnesota. My senior thesis was published in Agathon: The University of Minnesota Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy. The thesis is very technical. I don't recommend it unless you have a strong background in philosophy.
I have written a dozen short stories since late 2002. I've started shopping a few of them around to paying markets. My story "Blind Feeling" appears in the Chimeraworld #2 anthology, September 2005. My short story "Fashion-Fatale" was slated to appear in The House of Pain March 2005; but the zine since folded. I made the story available online for your perusal anyways. It's my annual freebie. "The Purloined Lips of Destiny" appears in the Spring 2004 edition of The House of Pain. You can find three other stories in The House of Pain archives: "Acetone Enema" (Jan/Feb 2003), "The Mechanics of Perversion" (May 2003), and "Baby Hunter" (Autumn 2003).
You can read Mike Purfield's full review of my novella HARD BALL for The Hacker's Source #15 by clicking on the link to HARD BALL below. You can also read the first chapter on my primary website, along with some excerpts from my (unpublished) novella Ugly Stick.
I've just put the finishing touches on the third and final draft of my first novel-length work of obscene horror fiction. Stay tuned. You can read more about the progress I'm making finding a publisher on my livejournal. Look for the link below.
Otherwise, I collaborated with U.K. horror surrealist Mike Philbin on a short story entitled "The Mound". We've recently made some revisions to make it a little less taboo; and we're back to shopping it around.
I've written two new short stories and polished them up. I've started shopping them around too.
Fundamentally, you should understand that I am a curious person. I am prone to deep introspection. I deeply explore dreams, nightmares, concepts and emotions. I wrestle with my own demons. I see subtle problems between persons as symptomatic of deeper forces, which compel humanity. Many of these problems have everything to do with partly formed images we carry around with us. They influence our feelings and ultimately our behavior. These images easily materialize when provoked. I hope to provoke the images through my writing. If we can face them, we can afford them precisely the influence they deserve. If you can stomach me, you'll see what I'm saying. Cheers!
