Patricia Veazey Alvarado grew up in Abbeville, Louisana. As the third child of six, the pen was easier than the sword, and she began writing humorous poems about relatives. After she graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette), Pat moved to the Republic of Panama in a spirit of adventure to teach in the United Fruit Company Schools. Though Pat loves to travel and write, her absolutely most favorite thing to do is to laugh, especially at herself!
