About fifteen or so years ago, Phyllis’ stepmother-in-law gave her a romance novel to read. "A Rose in Winter", by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. From that point on, she’s been an avid lover of romance–either stories or movies or music. She started writing when she picked up a story that had a really bad ending and wondered if she could do better. Between that and her dreams, she was inspired to write. Now almost ten years later, she can't stop writing. She’s written skits for her community and church, which were performed and judged, and she received awards for "Funniest" and "Best Written". She won second place in the Heart of the West’s Golden Pen Contest for her historical, My Knight, My Rogue. So far she’s written thirty-seven stories. Her favorite is genre historical, but she’s also written western, contemporary, time-travel, paranormal and inspirational. She’s an active member of the Romance Writers of America–Utah Chapter. She’s also part of three wonderful online critique groups.
She is published with Champagne Books, Vintage Publishing, and Highland Press.
Phyllis has been writing for ten years, but has loved romance way before then. She's married and has two daughters, who are now fans of her work and keep pushing her to write more.
Phyllis works full time for the state of Utah, and dreams of the day when she can stay home full time and write for a living.
