As a boy I read comic books, fantasy and sci-fi novels, and I watched every UHF monster movie I could on the weekend. Some of my influences are, but by no means a complete list, Roger Zelanzy, Thomas Pynchon, William Gaddis, Salman Rushdie, Issac Asimov, Samuel Delaney, Dan Simmons, Richard Laymon, Sherri S. Tepper, Robert Heinlein, Tanith Lee, Doris Lessing, Robert Coover, Tom Robbins--and at least a hundred other authors whose work has somehow inspired and/or influenced me over the years.

After publishing my novel, The Last Dark Place, with Writers Club Press/iUniverse, I recently published a few fantasy and horror stories on the web. One story, Fire Bath, won the Kim Newman Award for best vampire fiction at Waterstone's Online--a damn fine online bookseller in Great Britain.

Currently, I've working on a new novel and a few screenplays. Short fiction still interests me, and I try to write stories whenever I'm able.
