Life is a learning experience. Most of the great teachers have shown the way for humanity to escape from suffering to a new life. Sometimes one feels like a voice in the wilderness, and then when someone buys a book and says "It's changed my life," then one knows that the wilderness is a figment of the imagination and the False Self and the fight goes on.

Background Information

The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist: This is Robert's second book. It's for Spiritual adventurers who desire more than sitting in a pew or attending a message service in a Spiritualist Church. It takes the Quester through easily presented metaphysics, sacred energies, psychic and intuitive abilities, mediumship, talking and conversing with spirits, automatic writing, life in the Spirit World, and some philosophical thoughts about God, the Universal Mind, the Creator. Many Questers find their limitations, old fears and uncertainties blocking their path. Robert combines the basic teachings of Cracking the Glass Darkly in a series of exercises along the way. He also adds several of his own emotional and dramatic adventures. Robert is on youtube.com, talking about his latest book and describing an unusual meditation contained in its last pages. Enjoy.  Love, Light and Blessings.

Meanwhile, here's the writeup on his first book.

Cracking the Glass Darkly: Lots of people suffer from things said wrongly, broken relationships, limited mind-sets and sleepless nights. Did you know there is a part of you that is beyond that mechanical suffering and mind chatter? It's called the True Self, and it's that part of you that has the key, the way to a successful and satisfying, happy life.

In his life Robert worked as a journalist, award-winning news photographer, an accredited war correspondent, and saw suffering caused by egos and wars of all shapes and sizes. International wars and personal wars in the home. He started studying the teachinges of the mystics -- the Sufis, Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, Jean Klein, Alan Wats, Vernon Howard. They each taught a way out, a doorway to the freedom from personal suffering caused by the negative ego, the False Self.

Robert's book, puts it simply and effectively. The way to dissolve the negative ego and cast off limitations and hurts. How to enjoy living in the Here and Now. As his early Yoga teacher said frequently: "If you are not happy right now, when will you be happy?"

Robert then takes the reader through a journey of learning to love yourself unconditionally. If you don't love yourself, it's probably because you were told somewhere in your life "You are not lovable." They were wrong!  It's all right to love yourself, in fact it's the best thing you can do to attain a healthy outlook and good company.

Then there is Cosmic Consciousness, a spiritual state which is impossible to imagine, it just has to be experienced. Once the negative ego is dissolved, and you start to enjoy living in the Now, and loving yourself, something else happens. You start to feel the consciousness of the Cosmos, the Universe. There is a strange, exotic silence, a "peace that passeth all understanding."

These healing aspects do not mean you laze off into a meditative stupor. Far from it. You can still be part of a hectic life: on the stockmarket, racing around selling real estate, digging ditches for the municipality, or wrestling with kids as a homemaker. But you feel different and you see things differently.

After years of teaching, someone in Spirit said "Write a book." So Robert did. The result: Cracking the Glass Darkly: Discovering the Power and the Ecstasy of Your True Cosmic Self.  Spirit also advised: "Academics write for academics. You write as a journalist for people so that everyone can understand, learn and be free from suffering."  Robert did just that for both books. Love and Light.
