As a science fiction writer I sometimes wonder who I am. What am I? What am I doing here? I am a normal physical human being moving through life enquiring of all things. I have written a small booklet entitled 'The Thinker' which tries to explore these thoughts and is free on the Jim Long site. My imagination is of great importance, a driving force that moves me through each day. I lived through my teen years in the 1950's where fantastic sci fi stories were born and created into books and films. Now a widower, I live in Kent,England with my teenage daughter. Although semi-retired I still go out and sing - big band and ratpack style numbers of Sinatra, Martin and Bobby Darrin. 

The book of life - everything thrown at me through the years even the kitchen sink. My biggest achievements are my stories. My joy is singing all the hits from the past decades of music including big band.

The first book 'Ancients ones of light' was more like a film script lots of action and diversions. The second 'The White Hole' several twists in another dimension of time. My third book as yet untitled is the best. In the third adventure (nearing publication) an ancient artefact is discovered outside the city of Zant One, perfect in symmetry and condition preserved for twenty thousand years under the planets surface. Despite various warnings the site is opened to the populace as a primeval psychic temple. Many in the government alarmed, race to interpret an ancient book whilst the religious sector move in regardless. The centre sphere contained in the site is penetrated by clerics as Jim tries to stop the infection that causes madness and self-circumspection. A leader becomes infected causing a terrifying acceleration and transformation of psychic power. Jim and his two companions become involved in a final titanic psychic battle to save the populace and planet from destruction worse than death.
