I love poets like Walt Whitman, E.E. Cummings, William Shakespeare, John Keats, and William Carlos Williams - and writers like Edgar Allan Poe, William Faulkner, Ernest Hemingway, Stephen King, Charles Dickens, D.H. Lawrence, William Somerset Maugham, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Thomas Hardy, Nathaniel Hawthorne, John Fante, Anton Chekov, and Fyodor Dostoyevsky. I'm also a native of Brooklyn so of course I also love Henry Miller, Norman Mailer, Henry David Thoreau, Truman Capote, Jack Kerouac, and Carl Sagan, and Charles Bukowsky, also, Hunter S. Thomson. (My apologies to all the others I've left out, especially Plato and Robert Frost). I read constantly for years and then I wrote my heart out. Everyone's given up on me, but I remain undaunted, moreover, I believe that literature helps us all to lead more fulfilled lives.
Birth Place: Brooklyn, NY U.S.A.
Accomplishments: I'm your basic underachiever who's somehow managed to write a few good books. I also believe that the reward of following your bliss is what counts. Plus it's the deeper and more difficult path to follow. "Love what you do and do what you love" is my personal credo. Still, it would be nice to win a Pulitzer Prize. In lieu of that I have recently won the poet of the month at www.wordsport.com. I am also a four time winner of the Editor's Choice Award from The National Library of Poetry. But always bear in mind that some of our most celebrated writers and poets never won an award. Which reminds me, my novel, A Wicked Twist Of Fate is now featured on Award Sites.com. You never know when lightning will strike!

 | A Wicked Twist Of Fate by Ronald Dondiego "A Wicked Twist of Fate" is a short novel that takes place in Manhattan in the late 1940's. It has been reviewed favorably at MyShelf.com by Jen Oliver. As a novel of dark desire and some graphic violence, it does seem to elicit some strong emotions from its readers. But it's an honest book with real blood and guts characters that drive the plot forward. I hope its readers will enjoy it for wh...

Additional information
|
| I have a novel and other works available on Amazon.com, bn.com, etc. My novel's entitled: "A Wicked Twist Of Fate." Look for a review about it by Jen Oliver on MyShelf.com. It's film noir influenced and has a tragic/twisted ending. I also have written a book of poetry published with www.Xlibris.com. It's entitled Prose, "Poems, And Private Reflections." It's my best work to date in the realm of poetry. And, if you're into short stories, please feel free to browse through Fables and Other Oddities of The Imagination at www.iuniverse.com. Also, my latest short story collection: "The Face and Other Fantastic Tales" is currently available on Amazon.com, bn.com, and borders.com as well as other online booksellers. It's also possible to purchase it directly from my publisher www.authorhouse.com. All in all, I'd like to say that it's a great honor to finally fulfill my dream and make my books available to the general reading public, in whom I place my implicit trust. If anything I've done is worthwhile I'm sure it will eventually find an audience of great readers!
The Possessed is now available from www.publishamerica.com. - and other booksellers. So far it's been very well received by readers and reviewers alike. Thanks. Ron |
