I love the web as a publishing medium, it's like doing a live stage performance. A One-time shot that lives in the archives forever, no edits, no do-overs. The downside is that improvisation is like NASCAR --- Half the audience wants to see you wreck.
Have been composing music and writing lyrics since February 9, 1964 when the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. Dabbled in short stories, partial novels, and screenplays for several years while playing in the "real" worlds of high tech, advertising, television, and some film. Served several years on staff of the Denver International Film Festival, coordinating hundreds of volunteers and working with many talented directors, actors, and festival guests. Started putting words together in a novel format in late 2004 preparing for a 2005 early retirement from a high tech management career. Published works include an illustrated volume of poetry "Kiss the Breath of Sunset" ISBN 978-1-4116-6508-8, and a novella "Batting Practice" ISBN 978-1-4116-8457-7. I've found that one thing I enjoy almost as much as the writing is the preparation of the preliminary cover art; combining painting, drawings, photography and photomanipulation has been a gas! Major influences (written word): Frank Herbert, James Michener, Patricia Cornwell, Thomas Harris... and oh, of course, that horror guy... Stephen something...Music and art: Nanker Phelge (a famous pseudonym); Mick Jagger, John Lennon, Peter Townshend, Ronnie Wood, the late Denny Dent.
I've added some music samples to the Den. You can check them out in my Stories (has a cool picture), or click the links below...
