My  literary background comes from what Father God Allah has blessed me with. My talent and ability to reach the masses with my words comes from his gift to me. It is a blessing to be able to reach people with my words. My major influences in my life is my husband and soul mate who is also my inspirational muse. For he believes in me and what I am trying to accomplish through my poetry and other written works. Life circumstances and situations is another motivational factor in my life that inspires what I pen.  I've been writing poetry for over 25 years. Poetry to me is like breathing I must write about what moves me, what I feel and what I see. I write about everything around me. Poetry is second nature when it hits I have to write. If I'm found without a piece of paper when the words start to form in my mind; I'm like a mad person mumbling until I find something to pen my words on. The urge to writes hits me like a itch that needs to be scratched. It's something that I have to do. I pray one day that my poetry and other works along with my paintings will be read and appreciated for the artful expression that it is. My words have a universal message for all and I have a poem for everybody. For life is truly color coded and we are moved by colors and colorful words. I am a participant in the National Novel Writing Month 2006 and the title of my NANO Novel is called, "Mama, Please Don't Call Me A Color Out Of The Crayon Box," which I am looking forward to getting published. This will be my first attempt at writing a novel in 30 days. My motivation to do this is my love of creative expression through the written word. One thing about me that I don't talk about a lot is the fact the I'm an Abstract Artist and have painted over 200 paintings in my collection. One video that I have is called, "Life Is Color Coded" and I put it on YouTube.

I have been blessed to perform two pieces of my works entitled, "Freedom," and "Cries In The Night," at the Charlotte Afro-American Writer's/Poets Literary Arts Review, November 2002. Also performed another piece called, "Tis The Season," at the Columbia Literary Arts Review in December 2002.
I was also blessed to have three pieces published in an Anthology called, "Eternal Portraits Series." These three pieces are entitled, "Life," "Look Into My Eyes," and "Why," book will be released (summer of 2003).
My poem called, "Freedom," was also published in a Chapbook called: "The Strength of Sisterly Love," in 2002. I also won an award for a poem entitled, "Momma," by the Famous Poets in 1999.
I had a poem published on TimBookTu website called: "Day Dreaming."

My most recent works are the second print of my self published collection of spiritual poetry called: EXPRESSIONS FROM WANDA. Printed by Conquering Books to be released around the second week in July 2003. Co-Author of an upcoming book called: "Show A Little Love," which will be released in the fall of 2003. Currently I have just completed two more collection of poetry called: "Poetic Expressions From The Soul," and "Expressions That Feed Truth," to be published spring of 2007. I am still working on another collectin called: "Anointed Rhymes."
