Both, her maternal and paternal grandparents relocated their respective families to Brownsville, Texas from Mexico in the late 1960’s. Her parents relocated to Southern California in the late 1970’s. Her father died at the age of 36, leaving behind a wife and three daughters between the ages of ten and thirteen. Life became an uphill experience from then on.
She managed to get motivated and started writing short stories and poetry after her father passed away; later this passion led her straight into college.
She received a Bachelors of Science in Applied Sociology with a minor in Spanish from Southwest Texas State University in 1998. In 2004, she found a unique opportunity to accomplish several goals in her life while experiencing foreign travel. For a year and half she resided in Beijing, China, taught English to students of all ages and wrote on a full-time basis.
Now, four years later, she is back in California, striving to promote Las Niñas, A Collection of Childhood Memories while developing new works, perfecting her yoga techniques, cycling for transportation and simply enjoying freedom.
