1WriteGirl has held (with varying degrees of reluctance) numerous jobs over the years, including but not limited to research assistant, secretary, college instructor, pre-school teacher, tutor/mentor of teens within the juvenile justice system, and bartender. Major influences throughout her life have been F. Scott Fitzgerald, Doris Lessing, Pat Conroy, Ernest Hemingway, Larry McMurtry, P.G. Wodehouse, Carl Hiassin, and Janet Evanovich, in addition to her own private muse, who shall remain nameless. Like most writers, she would LOVE to be able to make a living from her writing. Her traditional publications thus far include two pieces of creative nonfiction and one short story, as well as four technical articles published on the subject of low vision (while doing research at Johns Hopkins University.)
