| I was greatly influenced by the movies "Grease" in 1978, and "The Coal Miners Daughter" in 1980.
I was greatly influenced by the music of The Carpenters, Tanya Tucker, Jody Miller, LOBO,
Johnny Cash, Crystal Gayle, Lynn Anderson, and
Jimmy Buffett during the 1970's.
Then, again, how could I forget Paul McCartney and his group WINGS. Also I can not seem to understand how I forgot Billy Joel. BUT, the one that I really forgot, is Barry Manilow. Along, about, the holidays of 1976, my dad bought my mom an electronic organ for Christmas, and of course I took to it, and when a Barry Manilow song was playing on the radio I tried to play along with it.
Plus, my dad had this guitar that had been going through the family, well, the guitar made it's way back to him during the 1970's. One really does wonder, how in the world could I write poems & lyrics and not write music to go with it. Well, It must not have crossed my mind, otherwise I certainly would have.
In the 1980's was a fan of the group AIR SUPPLY,
Barbara Mandrell, The Oak Ridge Boy's, Roseanne Cash, Rodney Crowell, and a country girl group
by the name of The Girls Next Door.
Since 1990 I have been a big fan of Shania Twain,
George Strait, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, and Brad Paiseley. |
