As an abuse survivor, she understands better than the average individual the importance of raising awareness of the effects of abuse on an individual. She bravely speaks out against the most extreme forms of child labor and ritual abuse. In her novels, she illustrates that abuse of every type is going on not only around the world, but in our own country as well. No child is safe while this threat exists.
