Now on sale: The horror-western 'CREEPING DREAD' , as well as 'YELLOW FEVER', the international suspense mystery set in nineteen-eighties South Korea, a double-shot of literary thrills from Double-Dragon Publishing. Also from Double-Dragon Publishing is 'MISTER HATE 2007', the 'uncut' version of my 2003 novel of the same name. Thanks again to Deron Douglas at Double-Dragon Publishing, as well as my editors, Jason Sizemore and Mary Klabel. Also recently published by Double-Dragon is my zombie-tale collection, 'THE DEAD EFFECT'. As a writer, I was greatly influenced by the works of Stephen King (no shock there, right?), as well as other genre greats such as Robert R. McCammon, Dean Koontz, Ramsey Campbell, Thomas Harris and Robert Bloch. Rod Serling's 'TWILIGHT ZONE' and 'NIGHT GALLERY' programs helped shape my imagination for the fantastic at an early age, as did the comic book worlds created by Stan Lee and Marvel comics(CAPTAIN AMERICA, X-MEN, DAREDEVIL, IRON MAN, THE FANTASTIC FOUR, THE AVENGERS, THE INCREDIBLE HULK). Additionally, I cannot ignore the influence of such horror film classics as John Carpenter's 1982 remake of 'THE THING', as well as George A. Romero's 'DEAD' films. ALL-TIME FAVORITE TV SHOW: The Andy Griffith Show. A close second: the classic M*A*S*H. FAVORITE MOVIE: 1986's 'Aliens'. A close second: Romero's 1979 masterpiece 'Dawn of the Dead'. FAVORITE READ: Stephen King's (writing as Richard Bachman) 'The Long Walk'. A close second: Robert McCammon's horror collection 'Blue World'. CURRENTLY READING: 'WORLD WAR Z' by Max Brooks. MUSICAL TASTES: Classic rock all the way, baby. UPCOMING PROJECT: (Summer 2008) from Swimming Kangaroo Publishing comes the Mystery/thriller 'SPECTRAL REWIND: The Class of '81'. You are cordially invited to visit my personal site, "GRAVEN IMAGERY" at http://tvzoner.tripod.com for a more in-depth look at my work and the people and places that have influenced it.
Birth Place: Red Bay, AL USA
Accomplishments: Received several medals and commendations while serving in the United States Air Force (1983-1991), where I was taught a sense of responsibility and dedication to task I still carry with me today. During my time in the service, I spent two tours overseas in South Korea, where I met my wife of twenty years, Kum Hui.
I also toiled as a records supervisor at the Abilene, Texas Police Department for several years, and also as a corrections officer for the state of Texas.

| PUBLISHING NEWS:
SEPT 2006: Just completed: My first draft manuscript for the mystery/thriller novel 'YELLOW FEVER'. Now, the real work begins...editing, editing, and still more editing.
OCT 2006: Editing is complete for 'YELLOW FEVER'....now it's off to 'submission land'.
In the meantime, I am currently outlining a new mystery/suspense novel set in the late 1800's. Thus far, I'm leaning towards 'part western', part 'creature feature'...stay tuned.
NOV 2006: Chippewa Publishing has released my first 'mainstream' novel, the character study entitled 'AMERICAN ODDITIES' in an exclusive ebook format.
Also, Double-Dragon Publishing has agreed to publish the mystery/suspense novel 'YELLOW FEVER' sometime in 2008, along with the horror/western 'A CREEPING DREAD'.
JAN 2007: I am currently outlining a new horror/suspense collection that I hope to delve into by month's end. As with several of my previous short-story collections, I plan on inserting a framework or 'wrap-a-round' tale to tie all the stories together.
April 2007: The 'living dead' collection, 'THE DEAD EFFECT' is currently in final edit mode and should see publication within the next few weeks. I'm stoked!
May 2007: 'THE DEAD EFFECT' has officially been unleashed onto the world via Double-Dragon Publishing!
JULY 2007: Swimming Kangaroo Publishing has agreed to release 'SPECTRAL REWIND: The Class of '81', a mystery/suspense thriller with just a hint of the supernatural. Being that I myself am an eighty-one high school graduate from Red Bay High (Red Bay, Alabama), this allowed me a personal trip down memory lane. This looks to be a June 2008 release.
AUG 2007:
The 'unedited' 2007 version of 'MISTER HATE' is currently being edited, and should see a September publishing date from Double-Dragon Publishing.
SEPT 2007: "Mister HATE 2007" on sale at Double-Dragon Publishing. This is a newly re-edited, partially re-written version of the 2003 novel. Can be purchased in paperback or ebook versions. Also on sale at Fictionwise.com.
NOV 2007: While awaiting the final editing process for 'SPECTRAL REWIND: The Class of '81', a June 2008 release from Swimming Kangaroo Publishing, I've just finished outlining my newest project, a sequel to 2006's highly successful 'DESOLATION ISLAND' tentatively entitled 'DESOLATION OUTPOST', which will feature several characters from the previous novel in a suspense/mystery/horror setting. I hope to complete this full-length work by Spring of next year. JAN 2008: Double-Dragon Publishing has agreed in principal to publish my Sci-Fi/Horror novella 'BUG-STOMPERS OF THE 21st CENTURY' sometime in 2009. Meanwhile, editing continues on the upcoming release 'SPECTRAL REWIND' from Swimming Kangaroo Publishing, and I'm also 25,000 words or so into my newest work, 'DESOLATION OUTPOST'. I hope to have the first draft of this horror/mystery completed by the May/June 2008 timeframe.
FEB 2008: Editing is complete on both 'YELLOW FEVER' and 'A CREEPING DREAD'. Thanks Mary K. for all your hard work on these twin projects. Double-Dragon will publish both E and paperback editions in late March.
MARCH 2008: 'YELLOW FEVER' has just been released by Double-Dragon...soon to be on sale at Amazon.com, Fictionwise.com, and other on-line booksellers in both ebook and paperback editions. On Deck: 'A CREEPING DREAD', a horror-western also from Double-Dragon Publishing. Editing is now complete on 'SPECTRAL REWIND: The Class of '81'. This now looks to be a late summer release from Swimming Kangaroo Publishing.
APRIL 2008: Double-Dragon has just released 'CREEPING DREAD' my horror-western. Coming directly off the heels of 'YELLOW FEVER', this is indeed a 'double-shot' of thrills from Double-Dragon! |
