I've been writing for over 25 years, the last fifteen being my most prolific. Unschooled and untrained in any of the popular styles of poetry form, I've still managed to impress numerous readers and publishers with my raw style.
From Oct. 1995 to Dec. 2006 I published The Lummox Journal, a monthly Literary - Arts journal which examined the creative process of the artistic mind, mostly writers/poets. I published an all poetry issue each April, as well as a tribute issue in August (1997 to 2000) to the late writer, Charles Bukowski. From 2002 to 2005 I also published a short fiction issue in August of each year. As of April 2007, The Lummox Journal is now online. Visit the website and click on the link.
In 1999 I began to publish The Little Red Book series (LRB) which now contains some 55 titles (as of 8-07). It is a veritable 'Who's Who' of Small Press Poets.
In 2000 I started publishing the LRB Master Series, a perfect-bound, flat spine series of books, the first one being The Wren Notebook by Rick Smith (which was nominated for a Pen Center West Poetry Book of the Year Award). Last year (Oct) I began the eleventh year publishing my magazine, The Lummox Journal.
I have been strongly influenced by Charles Bukowski, the Beat poets, Tom Waits, and Todd Moore (especially).
