I was born in Aldershot,England a long time ago,the son of a soldier, and grew up in various cities, towns or villages in England,Scotland & Germany.
Leaving school at the age of fifteen I lost all presense of mind and joined the Royal Engineers as a junior soldier and spent the next seven years two hundred and thirty one days being a pain in the butt to anything above the rank of corporal.I learned to drive trucks and bulldozers and the best way to clean and paint them.I learned how to build bridges and the best way to blow them up.I learned how to put mines in the ground hoping someone else found the best way to blow them up.I learned that getting married at 19yrs was not a good idea 'cos we were divorced a couple of years after I left the Army in 1972.
The rest of my life is a blur of marriages,
( three more weddings, three more divorces.Well you don't keep a car for life do you?),
travelling to other countries and consuming as much of the local falling down juice as possible, playing in lots of bands and generally leading an irrisponsible lifestyle. To finance this way of life I've been a machine driver, painter & decorator, salesman, busdriver, milkman, builders labourer, bricklayer, stone mason, worked in various factories, bodyguard, school caretaker, handyman and landscaper and these are just the jobs I spent more than two weeks doing.I've climbed rock faces and mountains, done a lot of alpine skiing, cross country ski-ing and water ski-ing.I learned to fly light aircraft, raced bicycles, played basketball and football, became a bass player and, as if all that was'nt enough, just as I was getting ready for another change of scenery along came my daughter, the Cool Chick.
She stole my heart and she steals my loose change.
She has a smile to die for and she is my 'raison d' etre'.
Fed up with being out of work and with time on my hands I decided to try my hand at writing a novel.
