Susan Vaughan loves writing romantic suspense because it throws the hero and heroine together under extraordinary circumstances and pits them against a clever villain. Reviewers have called her books fast-paced, thrilling, action-packed, sizzling, and highly emotional. She cut her reading teeth on Nancy Drew and Agatha Christie but discovering the gothic romances of Phyllis Whitney and others led to her wanting to combine romance and mystery in her own writing.
She is a West Virginia native but she and her husband have lived for many years on the coast of Maine. A former teacher, she enjoys curling up with a good book, gardening, walking the dog, sailing (if the day is sunny and the wind light), and hiking (if the day is sunny and the trail moderate).
