Matthew Revert is an author of deliriously warped, impossibly illogical fiction. Life is strange, why fight it?
I am an author based in Melbourne, Australia. I never thought I'd be an author and I had no distinct aspirations to be an author. It all kind of just happened. I started writing short fiction, which I would circulate among my very small circle of friends. The fiction in question was rather unusual and I was under the impression no one else would really be that interested (hence my lack of aspiration). One day, a strange, Melbourne-based entity called LegumeMan Books sprung to life and my work somehow became a part of their catalog.
I have been motivated to write simply so I could read the type of fiction I've always wanted to read. I believe life to be an incredibly strange, nonsensical phenomenon that can't be deciphered in any logical way. I write of my own confusion while trying to instill more.
My first book, 'A Million Versions of Right' was released by LegumeMan Books in July 2009. Initial feedback has been very encouraging. I'm thankful to anyone who has decided to give my peculiar take on the world a go.
My influences run an enormous gamut ranging from literature, music, art and film. I'm a fairly typical nerd who embraces those obscure creative ejaculations that no one else really cares about. Seriously, it would bore most people half to death if I started listing them.
