I have always loved writing and reading.  I majored in journalism as an undergraduate at Howard University and worked as a writer and editor for many years before graduating from Georgetown University Law Center.  I still practice law, and I still write.  I started The Elevator Group, an independent  publishing company, to publish my first novel, Chasing the 400, in 2006.  I published my second novel, Land Mines, in January 2009, and expanded into publishing other authors, starting with Patricia Thomas' A Christian Woman's Journal to Weight Loss in January 2009.   I also just released the companion journal to Land Mines, called Journaling Through the Land Mines, in July 2009.

Land Mines was named a finalist in the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the categories of 1) Multicultural Fiction, and 2) Best Cover Design Fiction.
Chasing the 400 was honored as the first selection of the African American Museum of Philadelphia Book Club in September 2007.

I have a number of upcoming author events in February and March. Check out the events page at my website, www.TheElevatorGroup.com. I was one of the authors included in the "100 Years, 100 Authors" Authors Pavilion at the NAACP Annual Convention in July in New York City.
