I prefer the spontaneous to the planned and the glass half-full to the glass half-empty!
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Stanford University in 1986. Though I graduated with a degree in Human Biology, and have worked in marketing for the last 20+ years, I have always had a secret passion for writing. And so after answering thousands of questions about my experience as a surrogate mom, I decided it was time to put my pen to paper and tell my story to the world. I did not set out to become a writer when I offered myself as a surrogate to my cousin ten years ago, but I have enjoyed the challenge of putting into words the emotional journey of surrogacy. It is a wonderful feeling to hold your published book in your hand, and while the moment I delivered a baby girl to my cousin and his wife was the most fulfillling moment of my life, the publishing of my book was one of my proudest moments.
In the past year I have been interviewed by The New York Times, KPBS, AllYou Magazine and many local and online outlets. I have spoken to many women's groups and I am in the midst of meeting with book clubs around the country to talk about Delivering Hope and my surrogacy. I am also the keynote speaker at Resolve's Family Building Conference in Long Beach.
