My career has focused on communications: writer, editor, press secretary, communications director and publications designer. In addition to being self-employed for 24 years, I spent eight years on Capitol Hill serving two U.S. Congressmen, two years in the President Gerald Ford administration, and eight years with two non-profit organizations. “Jefferson’s Masterpiece” will be a historically-based book for children about Thomas Jefferson writing the Declaration of Independence. The book will be divided into two sections. The first section will weave historical information and fiction together to create a story that I hope will entertain and teach nine to twelve-year-old children about the Declaration of Independence. The second section will contain additional information about the people and events surrounding this momentous event.
