I am originally from Canada, a small prairie town. I have lived and worked more than 20 years outside Canada, mostly in large world capitals. I am a psychologist, psychotherapist, Focusing (mind-body awareness) professional, accredited mediator, doctoral-level lecturer and international trainer. My main interests are in global relocation, the psychology of globalization, cross-cultural migration and futurist technology.
My writing focuses on humanising therapy and psychology as these professions become increasingly technological, medically-obsessed, and reductionistic. I am interested in the poetry of life and the importance of the ineffable but palpable.
My main influences are the great teachers I've had, existential philosophy, literature, poetry, meditative practices, the plays of JM Barrie, and pessimistic Norwegian philosophy.
