I love hot springs. My passion is Shakespeare. Also music, chess, travel - and writing, of course!

Background Information

My background is left-wing. I am a Paul Robeson scholar. My major literary influence? Why, it's the Avon 'butcher boy' - that working class kid from Stratford.

Birth Place
New York, NY USA
Accomplishments

My major accomplishment is the writing and publication - with June Levine - of the book "Tales of Wo-Chi-Ca." The Nation magazine deems it "a delight," and Jerry Silverman (musician/author) calls "Tales of Wo-Chi-Ca" "an epic akin to a Greek tragedy." (See link below.)

Additional Information

My biggest adventure in life was the Great Peace March across the United States. I wrote a short book about this long walk. (Please see the link below.) Another great adventure: June and I (in October 2002) sailed off on The Nation Cruise from New York to Nova Scotia. Besides 200 readers of The Nation magazine, we mingled with George McGovern, Victor Navasky, Laura Flanders, Howard Zinn, Katha Pollitt, Jules Feiffer, Patricia Williams, Calvin Trillin, Katrina vanden Heuvel, and Robert Scheer. Read my cruise review: click on *articles* above... June and I are now presenting Shakespeare seminars aboard cruise ships. We did a seminar of nine sessions on a Princess cruise to Hawaii. We hope to do more seminars on cruises and other places as well. (Call us: we're available!)
