National inspirational speaker, author of church support staff meditations and a daily blogger.

Background Information

I live in Sun City, Arizona, where I hibernate in my creative cave to daily write inspirational and devotional material. Because of my passion for personal retreats, I have created and presented retreats for church support staff and women’s groups, Stephen ministers, and pastor's wives throughout the U.S.

When I am asked why I write, I say: "I write because I have to get my thoughts down on paper." God gifted me with communication skills and I believe God wants me to share these gifts with anyone struggling spiritually or with those who need a boost of inspiration to get through the day. I write about what I know best which includes raising a family, working over 20 years in the church office, and from the year-long marriage therapy my husband and I went through after being married 49 years.  I use scriptural references from The Message Bible to encourage my readers to go to the Bible for more insight into their faith journey, and I rely on my sense of humor to make my stories and presentations fun to read.

To get away from my cave, my husband and I travel in our motor home coast-to-coast to visit our daughters in Indiana and New Jersey and spend time with grandchildren.  We are blessed to have a son and granddaughter in the Phoenix area and our church family at Peace Lutheran Church in Peoria, Arizona.

Additional Information

My first published work, “Surprised by Love,” appeared in the August 2007 Guideposts magazine. I continue to write on assignment for Guideposts and Angels and Earth magazines, usually as a ghostwriter. I self-published five book in five years. My first book, "Incidents from the Church Office: 52 Meditations for Support Staff and Volunteers," in the fall of 2009 to honor all church workers who minister behind the desks in the office. The meditations were written about the daily life and incidents of working in the church and offer a message of encouragement or enlightenment to the reader. I wrote two more editions and then combined them under a new title, "The Donut Theory--Meditations and Inspiration for the Church Office. After blogging for years, I published "Humble Beginnings--daily meditation moments" in 2013. I plan to publish my work from 2014 this fall.
